President Message

Greetings,

Welcome to the Peoria Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Website.  I am Renita Metcalf, President, of the Chapter.  Our Peoria Alumnae Chapter was chartered on April 19, 1975.  For over the last 47 years, we have developed and sustained a reputation of consistency, service, integrity, and involvement.

We continue to be at the forefront of acknowledging and celebrating the accomplishments of community members, developing and implementing programs to address the needs of our community, and enhancing and supporting the initiatives presented by other local, state, and national organizations. 

These are exciting, and yet demanding times! We are excited that you have chosen to visit our website.  The Peoria Alumnae Chapter message is one of service, sincerity, and success. Enjoy! It is both an honor and a privilege for me to serve as President of the Peoria Alumnae Chapter.  I have personally been a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc for 16 years and am very proud of the reputation of excellence that is held by our Chapter in this local and regional community.  It is a reputation built upon how we live/reflect our sisterhood.  A sisterhood that draws powerful and talented women who are educators, lawyers, engineers, authors, political leaders, realtors, and administrators (just to name a few) into a bond in which our focus is clear.  Our focus is love and respect for one another and service to our community.  We are a wonderful combination of wisdom, experience, energy, commitment, and passion.  As President, a primary goal has been the establishment and maintenance of communication processes through technology. 

In the aftermath of our recent experiences with the pandemic, the challenges associated with communication needs and the re-establishment of a culture of communication through technology have been overwhelming. I embrace these challenges!  Together, the Women of the Peoria Alumnae Chapter are growing in technology knowledge while preserving the essentials of one-to-one relationships.  Our successes are reflected in the diversity of age groups with whom we interact and our outcomes achieved.  I am proud to serve as the leader of this group of creative, innovative Sisters.
